I booked a reservation on Facebook and no one got back to me. Why?

Please call (705) 462-3200 to book a reservation, as our Facebook page is not monitored 24 hours a day. If we are unable to answer the phone when you call, please leave us a message with your name and phone number and we will get back to you to book your reservation.

Why does your menu always change?

It is important for us at The Dish to buy locally. In order to do this, we must utilize whatever is in season. Having a set menu limits ingredients that we are able to use and forces us to buy costly products from outside the area. Changing things on a daily basis allows us to take advantage of local, seasonal fare. It also ensures that our food inventory goes out the door as fast as it comes in! No frozen boxed food here!

Do you do any private catering?

Please call (705) 462-3200 to inquire about private catering.

Do you have a liquor licence?

Yes! We are fully licensed! No, you cannot BYOW!.

Where did the art on your walls come from? How can I buy one?

The paintings on our walls at The Dish are not for sale and are works created by Eunice Brissette. Eunice is a retired family studies and art teacher, and you will frequently see Eunice helping us out during busy times. Eunice is also the mother of owner Matt Schram, and our in-house baker. Please feel free to inquire at The Dish if you are interested in having Eunice paint something you have in mind. We also have a gallery at the back of the cafe featuring the works of Natalie Moreau and Liz Pacey. Don’t forget to check it out next time you are in for a visit!
